15 women with disabilities has successfully completed SPA and Massage Training

On 25th February 2019, Hon’ble Lyonpo Ugyen Dorji, Minister For Labour and Human Resources graced the closing and award certification ceremony of five months SPA and massage therapy training funded by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives,

Fifteen women with disabilities including school drop out girls from disadvantage background has underwent five months training on Spa and massage therapy training at Norbu Healing Arts Centre.(1st October 2018 to 26th February 2019).

The primary objective of providing SPA training program is to help persons with disabilities to develop relevant professional skills so that they can get a decent job and live an independent life. Now fifteen of them will work as spa and massage therapy in different hotels and resorts in Bhutan and live independent in the society.

Till date, DPAB supported more than 40 persons with disabilities to undergo healing therapy training. Most of them are now working as SPA therapist in various hotels and resorts in Bhutan. DPAB would like to thank CFLI for funding support and Norbu Healing for opening this door of opportunity for persons with disabilities, all your assistance and support during the training course.
